Content overview

  • In this chapter, we discuss the process from uranium exploration and enrichment to fuel fabrication and use at nuclear power plants. Furthermore, we explain the situation of interim and final storage in Germany. Finally, we give an overview of the worldwide situation of nuclear technology. Here, for example, the salt reactors are of particular interest, since they form the last reactor generation.

  • In order to treat radioactive matter, you must understand it first. We explain the basic nuclear physics models and use this to explain the types of radiation and thus derive radiation protection concepts and criticality aspects. In the following, we deal with quality assurance and plant safety. These contents are essential in all projects.

  • Nuclear projects usually take place in monitoring and control areas. However, these areas are restrictive, as special rules and behaviors apply. We explain the functioning of the areas and best practices in handling radioactive materials. These can also be found in the so-called Human Performance Tools. These are working methods that ensure safe handling of radioactive substances.

  • In the live expert discussion, all questions and issues that arise during the course or in the current job can be discussed. The talk addresses the individual needs of the participants.
